Philoptochos Long Beach
Serving with compassion, faith, and love — turning care into action for our parish, our neighbors, and those most in need.
A ministry where faith becomes care.
Philoptochos Long Beach is the philanthropic heart of the Assumption community. Rooted in the Gospel call to serve others, this ministry helps respond to real needs with dignity, generosity, and love.
Through outreach, charitable giving, fundraising, food drives, visits, support for families, and hands-on service, Philoptochos reminds us that compassion is not just something we believe. It is something we do together.
Care reaches farther when we serve together.
Our Assumption Philoptochos chapter supports local outreach, Metropolis ministries, and national philanthropic efforts while also caring directly for members of our own parish family.

Through the Metropolis
Philoptochos supports ministries and programs across the Metropolis, including Camp Agape, the Student Aid Endowment Fund, and Women’s Health & Wellness initiatives.
On the National Level
Our chapter also supports Holy Cross, Hellenic College, IOCC, St. Basil’s Academy, social services, emergency assistance, medical support, and humanitarian causes.
Generosity has been part of this story for generations.
Philoptochos has served the Greek Orthodox Church through parish, Metropolis, and national chapters since 1931. At Assumption Long Beach, the chapter continues a tradition of care that reaches into homes, hospitals, schools, shelters, and families across the community.
This is not only a ministry of donations. It is a ministry of presence. Sometimes service looks like preparing food. Sometimes it looks like visiting someone who feels forgotten. Sometimes it begins simply by asking another person to care.
Philoptochos is you.
With your participation, Philoptochos Long Beach can provide food to the poor, support seminarians, bring holiday cheer to elderly parishioners, and help local mothers, children, and families in need.
