This will be my last newsletter as President of Philoptochos.  But wanted to leave office making sure everyone knows what’s coming up throughout the Summer months into the Fall.  We are already into July and that means Festival Preparations.  Before you know it the festival will be here.  July is the month we start baking all those wonderful sweets.  WE have much baking to do and WE are counting on everyone pitching in to help us this year.  This is your opportunity to learn how to make the delicious sweets that Long Beach Assumption is so famous for.  If you don’t know how to bake and would like to learn, this is your perfect opportunity to do so.   You couldn’t ask for better teachers than the ladies we have in our own kitchen……Long Beach Assumption has a reputation to live up to, so come on down and help us uphold that reputation.  Hope you will be able to help us bake!  See baking flyer in this bulletin for dates and time/s.

Although it may be the summer months, the work of Philoptochos never ends. We will be having our backpack outreach throughout the summer up until school resumes.  If during the summer months you find price breaks on backpacks and school supplies please remember our outreach. Come September many children will be excited to receive your generous gift.  See enclosed flyer for details.  Following the backpacks we will be gathering our holiday turkeys and canned goods along with the Sunday School Children.  Following that; we go right into the Christmas Holiday with Trinity Christmas Party and the gift giving tree that’s always located in the Narthex of the church.  All this and more is yet to come.  As you see, Philoptochos provides for many individuals as well as organizations.  WE ask that you keep us in your thoughts and be aware of all the upcoming activities.  Without your generosity WE couldn’t do it.   We truly appreciate all that you continue to do for our outreach as do the families who receive your generous donations.  Thank you so very much.
